Here’s an End of Year Review where you can sum up your major achievements in 2020 and plan your sporting success in 2021
We’ll soon see the back of this year and what a year it’s been!
It has felt so strange with all the time spent indoors and away from friends and family and of course, we’ve had none of the usual demarcations over the months like the Oxford-Cambridge boat race, the Grand National, Wimbledon or any of the events we look forward to on the sporting calendar.
Tennis, football, snooker, horse-racing and rugby tournaments have taken place either behind closed doors or with just a handful of spectators and even The Masters took place in November instead of kicking off the golf season as usual at the beginning of April.
What I found interesting recently when the second lockdown ended and I was able to go to the gym, of the 2,000 members apparently not a single person had contracted Covid-19 which does seem to suggest that the fitter and healthier you are, the better for you and those around you.
A huge blessing has been that I’ve been able to transfer all my lessons online when my teaching venues have been closed and with the success of my book Breathe Golf; The Missing Link to a Winning Performance (which now has 94 reviews on Amazon and has just been released on Spotify) my coaching business has gone from strength to strength.
Plus there’s been so much time to devote to my hobbies which include learning to speak Italian and playing Flamenco guitar. I’ve never had so much available time and I’m pleased to say not much of it has been wasted.
So now we look ahead to 2021 and planning for each New Year is something I always devote considerable time to; first by writing a review of what I’ve managed to achieve both personally and professionally over the last 12 months and secondly, setting the scene for the coming year with a brainstorm on what my top goals look like for the coming year.
This year I’ve created and released my 12 Week Mind-Body Performance Challenge eBook and audio programme which is designed to encourage athletes to be more mindful in every pursuit from eating to stretching and working-out.
I’ve also planned and completed the first section of another golf book called Connected Golf; Bridging the Gap Between Practice and Performance which will be released in time for The Open Championship mid-July 2021. This book was first drafted in 2011 so a lot of work, effort and research have gone into it to say the least!
I am also currently writing a new eBook/audio programme on the 12 Keys to Mastering High-Pressure Moments in Sport which will be ready for you in the New Year and it’d be great to get your help with this.
I’d be very grateful for any comments or feedback you’d care to give me on WHAT PRESSURE FEELS LIKE FOR YOU so I can make this new eBook/audio programme the best advice for helping you overcome nerves, anxiety and mental interference when you absolutely have to make the shot or produce a near perfect routine.
End of Year Review
When you’re chilling and have some down-time over Christmas, you might find it useful to answer the following questions.
If you’ve got a Training Journal why not write out the questions and spend at least five minutes or so answering each of them. You may wish to do this exercise over several days and if you’re doing my 12 Week Mind-Body Performance Challenge you can also incorporate your Affirmations, Vision Board and more!
As a special festive gift, enter the code chi50 to get 50% off your 12 Week Challenge eBook and audio programme! It will be such an amazing way to kick-start 2021 🙂
