The Open Championship

The Open Championship is our favourite of all the Majors, steeped in the history of the game.

The following quotes demonstrate how the simple, timeless and proven principles of

chi-power GOLF have been echoed by former Open Championship winners through the years:

Three time winner Jack Nicklaus (1966, 1970, 1978) famously said that “Golf is played with the feet”. This echoes the saying of Tai Chi Grandmaster Yang Cheng Fu who said that Tai Chi is “Rooted in the feet, moving through the waist, expressed in the hands”.

Five time winner Tom Watson (1975, 1977, 1980, 1982, 1983), said “When I learned how to breathe, I learned how to win”. Watson only missed his sixth win to a playoff, becoming by far the oldest runner-up in 2009 (at 59 years and 10 months).

Focusing on your breathing is the quickest way to control the inner dialogue, reduce self-interference, master bio-chemistry and access ‘the zone’ – all fundamental practices of the

chi-power GOLF methodology.

Gary Player, who won The Open in three different decades (1959, 1968, 1974) is quoted in an interview as recently as The Masters 2013 as being a life-long practitioner of Tai Chi, claiming that it helped to strengthen his mind, especially when he had to come from six shots behind on the last day to win the tournament.
